Plagiarism Policy

ECONOMIST: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in all manuscripts submitted for publication.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism and similarity checking as part of the editorial screening process. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to identify similarities between submitted manuscripts and previously published works or other available sources.

Similarity Threshold

The similarity level of each submitted manuscript must be less than 25%.

Manuscripts with a similarity score of 25% or higher may be returned to the author for revision and clarification. If the similarity is considered to indicate substantial plagiarism or academic misconduct, the manuscript may be rejected by the Editor.

The similarity score is used as an initial screening indicator and does not automatically constitute a finding of plagiarism. The Editor may examine the similarity report to determine whether the similarities result from legitimate citations, references, commonly used terminology, methodological descriptions, or other acceptable sources.

Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

1. Copying substantial portions of another person's work without appropriate attribution;
2. Presenting another person's ideas, words, data, findings, or work as one's own;
3. Using previously published material without proper citation or acknowledgment;
4. Reusing substantial parts of the author's own previously published work without appropriate citation (self-plagiarism); and
5. Any other form of academic misconduct involving the improper appropriation of intellectual work.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly cite all sources used.

Editorial Action

If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified during the submission, review, or publication process, ECONOMIST: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis may take appropriate action, including:

• Returning the manuscript to the author for clarification or revision;
• Requesting corrections or additional citations;
• Rejecting the manuscript; or
• Taking other appropriate measures in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

The final decision regarding suspected plagiarism rests with the Editor-in-Chief and/or Editorial Team based on the similarity report, manuscript content, source comparison, and relevant publication ethics principles.
